Etsy’s 6.5% transaction fee applies to shipping too.
US payment processing rate shown (3% + $0.25). Rates vary by country. For US sellers the 6.5% transaction fee excludes sales tax.
JellySell crosslists your items to eBay, Etsy, Mercari, Depop, Grailed, and Vinted in one click — and manages orders, messages, and shipping from one dashboard.
Etsy layers three mandatory fees on every sale. First, the $0.20 listing fee — charged when you list, and again each time a multi-quantity listing renews after a sale. Second, the 6.5% transaction fee, calculated on the entire order: item price, shipping, gift wrap, and personalization. Third, the payment processing fee — 3% + $0.25 for US sellers — also assessed on the full order total.
Together those mandatory fees work out to roughly 9.5% + $0.45 on a typical order, and the fixed portions hit low-priced items hardest. Offsite Ads can add a lot more: if a sale comes through one of Etsy’s external ads, you pay 15% — or 12% if you’ve sold over $10,000 in the past year, at which point the program is mandatory.
Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the total order (including shipping), and a payment processing fee of 3% + $0.25 for US sellers. On a $30 item with $5 shipping, mandatory fees come to about $3.78.
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee is calculated on the item price plus shipping, gift wrapping, and personalization charges. Building shipping into your item price doesn’t change the fee total.
If a buyer clicks one of Etsy’s ads on Google, Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest and buys from your shop within 30 days, you pay 15% of the order (12% if you’ve made over $10,000 in the past 365 days — and at that level, you can’t opt out).
Payment processing fees are credited proportionally when you refund through Etsy Payments. The listing fee is non-refundable.
